Current assignments may be on the first through third pages. Ignore the black dates above the posts. Scan posts for work with dates close to now (dates WITHIN the posts). The posts are in no particular order, so scroll through the first three pages. Keep copies of all your files on your laptop and in your binder. If I collect an assignment, not having a printed version will result in a grade of zero. Assignments could be collected at ANY time.

ABOUT ASSIGNMENTS

Most assignments will be posted on this website; however, some may be announced verbally in class. Write those assignments in your binder. Teachers are not required to keep a website. Thank you.

**IMPORTANT: USE THE RUBRICS FOR ALL ASSIGNMENTS**

Be sure to use the many rubrics to edit and proofread your work. Use the Search Box at the top left of this website. Type in the word Rubrics. A very important rubric is the Rubric for Editing and Proofreading of MLA Documents. Type that title into the Search Box. You can also find many rubrics by clicking on the tab "Rubrics for Writing and Reading" at the top of this website.

MLA Format

https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/mla_style/mla_formatting_and_style_guide/mla_sample_paper.html-- For Excellent Information About In-Text Citations, Google: Quoting and In-Text Citation Using MLA Guidelines.

Possible Subjects in the PSAT/SAT Reading and Writing/Language Passages

Use the Search Box (top left corner) to review possible subjects in the PSAT/SAT Reading and Writing/Language passages (use the key words just mentioned). By doing so, reading the texts on the exam will be easier because you will know something about the subjects. However, always base your answers to the questions on the excerpted text itself; not outside knowledge. This is very important.

B.E.S.T. Standards Information

See Website Index at the top of this page. Find information about the new ELA B.E.S.T. Standards by clicking on the link at the bottom of that post.

How to Annotate a Text

See the Website Index at the top for links that explain how to annotate a text. Scroll down. Look under "Reading and Writing Help."
