Discuss the tales we have read and discussed during class. What lessons do the different tales teach members of the tribe? What values about life were revealed in the tales? For example, what do the tales teach about human nature in general (the way people usually behave in different situations)? What do the tales reveal about the relationship between humans and animals? What ideas do the tales show us about the way Native Americans view God and/or the supernatural? What questions about the origins of different things are answered? What are some of the ideas about love, friendship, male/female relationships, trust, honesty, loyalty, holding to one's word, paying attention to laws and rules, etc.?
In what ways can you relate these Native American values or lessons to what you've experienced in your own life, or to modern American life in general? Give examples. Be specific.
Be sure you have an excellent introductory paragraph, 3 body paragraphs, and one concluding paragraph. Always use quotations and/or specific references to the stories to back up and support your opinions.
