Print out and annotate the following text by President Teddy Roosevelt: https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/blog/2011/12/06/archives-president-teddy-roosevelts-new-nationalism-speech. (There is a link to an Obama speech. You do not have to read that speech.) Highlight important sentences. When taking notes, refer to the post on this website, "How to Analyze and Evaluate an Argument" to help you better understand how to analyze this text. (See the Rubrics tab at the top of this website.) If there is not enough room for annotations on the printout, write notes in your binder. Indicate page numbers, paragraph numbers, line numbers, as appropriate. Also, complete the "Shorter Analysis of a Text Activity":https://scholarmulhern.blogspot.com/2019/11/analysis-of-text-shorter-version.html. You may handwrite your Analysis activity.


Always remember to research some biographical facts about the author. Add these findings to your notes.

If you are unable to print the text, please read it on an electronic device. Make sure you have copious notes in your binder (indicate page numbers, paragraphs, line numbers) when referring to different sections. Of course, it is preferable to have a printed copy of the text.
