English III--"Building the Transcontinental Railroad." Assignment due on February 21, 2023. Assignment posted on February 16, 2023.

Read, annotate (at least 20 annotations), and create the nine important reading questions (see Canvas) with answers for "Building the Transcontinental Railroad."  Look up and memorize all words you do not know. Write the definitions down. Remember, there is also a required Vocabulary section in the Important Reading Questions document. You must have an Annotations document and an Important Reading questions document (electronic and printed-out versions).

Also, be sure the responses to the Important Reading Questions you create have textual support with citations.

You can find this reading selection in the electronic textbook, Unit 4.

As usual, be sure to have printed-out Word documents of both the annotations and the questions and electronic Word documents on your laptop (MLA Format). In addition, you must have the Important Reading Questions Checklist stapled to the front of your printed-out document in your binder. Write a checkmark at the end of each item as you review your document. Points will be taken off if you do not have this checklist. If you simply check off the review items on the checklist and your paper still has those mistakes, you will have additional points deducted. This checklist is required for all Important Reading Questions assignments. Keep your binder up to date with all assignments. Work may be collected at any time, not just on the due date.

The Annotations document does not need a checklist. You may annotate the text by cutting and pasting the text into a Word document. Upload a picture of your annotated text onto your laptop computer (in addition to placing the printed-out version in your binder).

Hurston chose not to align herself with the political ideologies of ot...
