Use the orange textbook on the bookshelf under the windows. Turn to page 262. Read this page completely to prepare for a difficult text. Especially read and take notes about rhetorical questions. One of the questions at the end of the text requires that you do the Reader's Notebook on page 262.
While you read this text, take notes in your binder. Remember to include line numbers so you remember which parts of the text your annotations refer to.
Answer the questions on page 267. You may skip number six. You do not have to write the question itself. Your answers should be complete sentences that make it obvious what the question was. Provide textual support (a quote) with a line number in parentheses to validate your response. You must do the Comprehension Check (within the questions). You do not need to provide textual evidence for every response but try to include textual evidence often.
Handwrite your responses on lined paper. Use MLA format--heading, title, header. You should not use your computer or phone for any reason. Thank you.
You need to turn in the Reader's Notebook activity and the questions at the end of the text. Keep your notes/annotations in your binder. Be sure the notes/annotations have a heading and date.
When you have completed your assignment, place it on the table at the front of the room. You must also return the orange textbook to the bookcase under the window.
